About Us
Data Automation Services International (DASI) was founded in 1979 by David Schafer. With a business degree major in economics from the University of Florida, Mr. Schafer worked as the Senior Systems Analyst for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta - Miami Branch. He was in charge of software development and implementation of Federal Reserve Accounting Applications including Reserve Accounting, ACH, and Check Processing Systems.
DASI originally began its entry into the software industry by providing state-of-the-art systems in the accounting arena. A college classmate, Wayne Revels, a builder/entrepreneur, invited David to discover capabilities of the then fledgling desktop computer industry, primarily occupied by the Radio Shack Computer Systems. Amazed by the power of the small computers, David using Wayne's business as a BETA test site, designed, programmed, tested and implemented a sophisticated job costing/accounting system.
In 1986 a survey discovered that DASI software was most widely used by members of AGC (Association of General Contractors). Our specialties today have branched out into additional territory including, Retail Point of Sale, Job Costing for the construction industry, and alliances with other vertical markets. These other vertical markets include: Hospitality, Networking Services, and Hardware.
