10-21-09 DASI announces affiliation with Find Accounting Software

A new national marketing campaign through Find Accounting Software has brought a new dimension of marketing & sales to our Sales Department. We have been monitoring this company for almost two years and found it to be an excellent service to both buyers and sellers of accounting software. New buyers can now ask for and receive as many software vendor proposals as they desire. These vendors are assured of talking to real buyers that have a genuine interest in their software services and the buyers are assured of talking to bonafide software vendors who have previously reviewed their requirements.

09-13-09 DASI announces completion accounting modules for Windows version 6.0

The excitement is growing as more of our existing DOS version users are making the transition to version 6.0 DASI Master Series for Windows. The data conversions are painless as we port all of the existing data from the DOS applications to Windows. Both simple to use and sophisticated for the most discerning of clients the system has proven it's reliability and its stability.

We look forward to many years shelf life as we vow to continue to enhance and improve the programs performance. Our support staff already has fears of being the Maytag serviceman since the system is running without problems.

07-04-08 DASI welcomes Michael Meagher as it's VP of Marketing & Sales

Dear DASI Enduser:

My name is Michael Meagher (pronounced mayer). I am the Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Data Automation Services Int"l. As our company finishes retooling for Windows platforms, we vow to keep our level of customer service up to the level you have come to expect.

We have proposed more services to make your experience with our accounting systems more productive. One of these services is the distribution of training tutorials which will enable you to teach yourself and new employees how the system operates. These tutorials will be made available on DVD and can be played on your computer while practicing or using programs capabilities. Look for them at the end of the 1st Quarter 2009.

As we begin our 30th year of software sales and support, we are excited to add even more software to our inventory of accounting systems. All of our Windows software will run on all platforms of Windows operating systems. Unfortunately, our DOS system is destined to be retired soon. We have been diligently modifying it in the past to continue to operate in an ever evolving world of technology. As time marches on the 64bit architecture of new computer hardware will spell the demise of the DOS version since a 16bit DOS program only operates in 32bit architecture or below. We hope that this news will encourage you to take a step into the Windows world and enjoy some of the advantages it has to offer. For those of you who do wish to upgrade to the 32bit Vista that is currently available, our DOS software has been successfully running on that platform.

The wait is over for the windows version of purchase orders and requisitions. I am sure that you will find this new version to be as easy to operate as the one you may have running on your current system. Many of you are awaiting the new release of accounts receivable in windows version. I am happy to tell you at this time that programming is going very well and we hope to be testing it very soon. You will find this new version has many of the features that the DOS version has, plus some new ones that many of you will appreciate.

09-01-07 DASI Web Site Downloads

Many of you now have figured out that our web site is a great place to visit regularly. Whenever any one of you report a problem which we subsequently fix, we post a patch to that program on our web site that you can download to your computer and install in a matter of minutes. Here is the process of how that is done.

When you go to our site, there is a 'Support' button. By clicking on the Support button, you will be presented with some choices. Depending on the application you have, you can click on the link that will take you to that area of our FTP to get any updates you might desire. There is one thing you must have before you will be allowed into our FTP site and that is a user name and a password. We change this periodically to prevent unauthorized access either by hackers or by end-users whose support contract is not current. If you do not know what the current user name and password is, call our help desk at (386) 462-3358, and if your support contract is current we will be glad to supply it. The download system has greatly improved our support capability. Instantaneous fixes are now a reality.

To determine if you need an update on any of our programs, the DASI 5.5 release has a patch reporting system built in to selection 99 from the IP menu. By getting a report of the programs currently in use by your system, you can compare the patch number of each program on your computer to the patch number currently on our FTP site to see if you need any updates. I would check at least once a month. We make patches every week. Once you have determined that you need a download, by clicking on any individual program, it will cause a dialog to appear on your monitor whether you want to open or save a program. Choose SAVE and select the folder in \DASIRUN called FTP. When each program is saved into that folder, the button on your DASI launcher labeled ā€œINSTALL FTP UPDATEā€ will become activated. By clicking it, the launcher will install all of the updates you have downloaded. I think you will see how powerful this is once you have tried it.
